Our Experience With the Stovax Studio 2
The Studio 2 Freestanding isn’t just the dream stove for most of our clients — it’s an installer’s dream too. When we fit one, it just works.
It’s the most popular of the Studio models, because the Studio 3 tends to be a very large unit for most homes, and for a lot of people the Studio 1 doesn’t quite give the flame visuals they had in mind. The 2 lands right in the middle.
The heat output is genuinely toasty. The air controls on this stove are world-class, so once it’s fully lit it’ll bring a very large room to a more than comfortable temperature.
The smooth lines and elegant style don’t stop at the exterior. Inside, the log holder at the front is polished to perfection and slides straight out for cleaning. Same story with the large door — move it to forty-five degrees, and it simply lifts off for any maintenance needed.
The bricks are CNC machined and stamped with the Stovax name, which tells you something about how they’re made. Metal plates covering the lower bricks come included, prolonging the life of the fire bricks considerably.
There’s also an angled flue outlet option on the Studio range, allowing installation at varied angles in modified Irish chimneys; Genuinely useful on jobs where a straight run isn’t possible.
Using Your New Stovax Stove
One thing people often don’t realise is that the Studio range has no grate or ash can. They work more like a pizza oven — you light the fire on a flat bed of fire bricks, and the air control system does the rest. When it comes to cleaning it out, you use an ash vac, so you’re not carrying a dusty ash can through the house.

Stovax Studio inset wood-burning fires are available in four sizes, each with a wide variety of frame options. From glass and steel to profil and bauhaus, there will be a frame to suit your own personal taste and style. Alternatively, the Studio can be fitted with an Edge kit for a more minimalist appearance.
