Ireland has roughly four warm evenings a year. Everything else is “grand once you’re moving.” Outdoor infrared heating is what turns a patio, terrace or beer garden from a summer-only space into somewhere people will actually sit from March to November.

Why Infrared, and Not a Patio Heater
This is the part worth understanding before you spend money, because most outdoor heating gets it wrong.
Conventional patio heaters — the mushroom type, and halogen heaters — work by warming the air. Outdoors, that’s close to pointless. Hot air rises the moment it’s warmed, is replaced by colder air, and the whole cycle starts again. Add an Irish breeze and you’re heating the sky.
Infrared works differently. It doesn’t heat the air at all. It radiates directly onto people and solid objects in its path, exactly like standing in sunshine on a cold day. The warmth arrives instantly, it stays where it’s pointed, and wind doesn’t blow it away.
For an Irish outdoor space, that difference is everything.
For Restaurants, Bars and Hotels
Outdoor dining isn’t a novelty any more — it’s floor space. And in this country, unheated floor space is closed most of the year.
Infrared heating turns an outdoor area into trading space across a far longer season. Not just July and August, but the spring and autumn evenings when people would happily sit out if they weren’t cold. More covers, more nights, more takings from a space you’re already paying rates on.
The practical advantages for hospitality:
- No gas bottles. These are electric — no storage, no swapping, no delivery schedule, no bottles behind the bar
- No flue, no ventilation works
- Instant heat. No warm-up time — switch on when the first customer sits down
- Heat only where you need it. Zone your terrace and run only the sections in use

- Discreet. Wall and ceiling mounted units keep floor space clear for tables

The same technology works just as well on a domestic patio, pergola, veranda or covered seating area.

The Infralia Range
There’s no single right heater — it depends on your space, your mounting options and how the area is used. A few of the models we work with:
Wall and ceiling mounted
Boreas — mounts on wall or ceiling, with remote control, WiFi connectivity and adjustable heat levels. Control it from your phone, which for a busy venue means adjusting zones without leaving the bar.
Uranus — horizontally mounted, designed for pubs, clubs, hotels, smoking areas, balconies and terraces.
Alfresco — commercial radiant tube heater for wall mounting, built for larger outdoor and cold areas.
Hanging
Riesling — a hanging radiant heater used in cafés, restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels, smoking rooms, patios and terraces. Ideal where you’ve height to work with and want the floor kept clear.
Freestanding and portable
Helios — a freestanding weatherproof (IP55) unit standing 152cm, with a 130° heating angle covering areas up to around 20m². Magnetic remote control, motion detection and separately controlled heating elements to keep running costs down. Suits terraces, balconies, event spaces, cafés and private gardens.
Diana — freestanding with 360° heat, designed for restaurants and bars where seating surrounds the heater.
Apollo and Bali — further freestanding and portable options for commercial and domestic use.

Offices, Garden Rooms and Workspaces
Garden offices, home studios, office buildings and workshops have the same problem from the other direction: expensive to heat, often poorly insulated, and usually only occupied part of the day.
G-Cera direct infrared heaters
The G-Cera range brings the same direct radiant technology indoors, in a design finished to sit in a room people work in rather than a plant room. Suitable for offices, studies, lounges, workshops and public spaces.
The G-Cera Fireplace model gives you the look and warmth of a fire without a flue, a chimney or a fuel supply — which makes it particularly well suited to garden offices and office buildings where installing a conventional appliance isn’t practical or permitted.
Gas balanced flue stoves
Where a real flame is wanted and the building allows it, we also supply and install gas balanced flue stoves — a popular option for garden rooms, offices and extensions. A balanced flue takes air in and sends exhaust out through a single wall terminal, so there’s no need for a conventional chimney.
