Multi Fuel Stoves

A multi fuel stove gives you options — wood, coal, turf or smokeless fuel, whatever’s available and whatever suits your budget that year. For a lot of Irish homes that flexibility is worth more than anything else on the spec sheet.

Multi Fuel or Wood Burning?

The practical difference is the grate. A multi fuel stove has a raised grate and an ashpan, so solid fuels can burn with air drawn from underneath. A dedicated wood burner burns on a flat bed of ash, because that’s how wood burns best.

If you’ve a reliable supply of good dry wood, a wood burner will give you a slightly better burn. If you want the freedom to throw on whatever’s in the shed, multi fuel is the sensible choice.
