Our Experience With the Stovax Studio 3 Freestanding

The Studio 3 Freestanding is a wow-factor stove. It’s a large unit, and the door opens downwards like an oven rather than swinging out into the room. Such is the scale of it that the display captures any room it’s in.

Be aware though — a large stove needs a large fire. We’ve found the Studio 500, Studio 1 and Studio 2 will happily run a far smaller fire than their chamber suggests, but the Studio 3 demands the bigger fire and the combustion that comes with it. That’s what gets the airwash working properly, keeps the glass clean and keeps the chimney drawing correctly. So if you want that display, make sure you’re willing to stick with the heat of the giant, and that your room can take it.

The Studio 3 is also rear exit only, which is worth knowing when you’re planning an installation or a renovation. It’s available with a decorative collar and an external air kit — that’s the kit that feeds the stove air from outside rather than taking oxygen from the room.

Fully lit, the size of it is extraordinary. It’s an exciting stove to fit, let alone own. You so rarely see a fire that big indoors, and housed in Stovax’s quality firebox, you know there’s real engineering behind the display.

The largest in Stovax’s Studio range is the striking Studio 3 Freestanding Ecodesign wood burning stove. This highly efficient and visually impressive wood burning stove has the same 12.6kW of heat output and stunning widescreen views of the flames as its inset fire equivalent but offers a very different look.

Designed to be sited on to the optional 180 Bench, or hearth mounted to achieve the distinctive stove look, the Studio 3 Freestanding will create maximum visual impact in rooms of larger proportions. It also has the ability to be fitted with an optional rear heat shield to reduce the distance to combustible materials behind the appliance and extend the styling possibilities further still.

Stovax Studio inset wood burning fires are available in four sizes, each with a wide variety of frame options. From glass and steel to profil and bauhaus, there will be a frame to suit your own personal taste and style. Alternatively the Studio can be fitted with an Edge kit for a more minimalist appearance.
