Stove and Fireplace Hearths — Made to Measure

Cut, polished and fitted in Co. Meath

A hearth isn’t just a slab under a stove. It has to be right for the appliance sitting on it — and it has to look right in the room.

At Nulty Providers we make hearths to order in our own workshop near Drogheda, in granite, marble, limestone and slate, and fit them across Meath, Louth, Dublin and the surrounding counties.

We Supply the Stove. We Make the Hearth. We Fit Both.

This is where we’re different, and it matters more than it sounds.

Most stove shops buy their hearths in as stock sizes and hand you a list of fitters. Most stone yards have never installed a stove in their lives. We do the whole job — so your hearth is templated to the exact stove we’re supplying, cut in our own workshop, and fitted on the same visit as the appliance.

One company. One quote. One person responsible if anything isn’t right.

No coordinating between suppliers. No stove arriving to find the hearth doesn’t suit it.

Made to Measure — Not Off a Shelf

Because we cut in-house, you’re not choosing from a handful of standard squares.

Our workshop runs a five-axis Prussiani CNC, which means we’re not limited to straight edges and right angles. Curved fronts. Radius corners. Bullnose, bevelled and profiled edges. Cut-outs and inset detail. Angled hearths for corner stoves. Oversized single pieces without a joint through the middle.

And it isn’t only cut stone. We also take on bespoke chamber work — herringbone tiling, brick slips, rendered and painted finishes — so the whole opening is finished properly rather than the stove being dropped into a bare chamber. If you’ve a large opening and a picture in your head of how it should look, that’s a conversation worth having.

If you have an awkward opening, an unusual room, or a shape in your head that nobody else will take on — that’s exactly the work we want.

Materials

Granite — the classic hearth stone. Extremely hard-wearing, heat resistant and easy to keep clean. Available polished, honed or flamed, in everything from deep black through to lighter speckled finishes.

Marble — softer and more decorative. Ideal for period rooms and traditional surrounds where appearance leads.

Limestone — warm, natural and understated. Suits contemporary and country interiors beautifully.

Slate — dark, matte and full of character. A popular choice alongside modern wood-burning stoves.

What Size Hearth Do I Need?

It depends on the appliance. Most of the stoves and fires we supply are suitable for a 12mm hearth, which opens up far more choice on materials and finish.

Every installation still has to meet Irish building regulations, though, and the requirements change with the appliance, the opening and the room — so we advise on each hearth case by case rather than giving a one-size-fits-all answer.

That’s the advantage of buying your hearth from the people fitting your stove: we’ll confirm exactly what’s needed for your appliance before anything is cut.

Quick Turnaround
