Our Experience With the Stovax Stockton 3
The Stockton 3 is the smallest stove on the market built to fit inside a standard 16-inch opening, which means it delivers heat close to an inset stove at a fraction of the cost. There’s no need to worry about hearth dimensions either — because it’s so compact, it slides straight into your existing 16-inch fire during installation.
If you’d rather electric than solid fuel in the same opening, see the Gazco Onyx Mirage 40i.
Other brands have tried to copy the design with little success. Most fail after fitting, buckling under the extreme temperatures generated in such a small space. Stovax are the only ones who’ve made it work properly.
Don’t let the size fool you. We’ve fitted this little stove in large rooms and in rooms with poor insulation, and it punches well above its weight.
Being the cheapest stove in the Stovax range doesn’t make it a lesser one. It has the same robust build as its bigger brothers, the same world-class air control as far more expensive models, and the same removable door that simply lifts off for cleaning and maintenance. The glass cleaning system rushes clean air across the inside of the glass while it’s lit, keeping the view clear and the room alive.
Three air controls give you real command over the heat output, and it comes with a removable handle and a set of fire-resistant gloves.
The Stovax Stockton 3 is a compact Eco-design Plus fire that is specifically designed to fit neatly into a standard 22”(560mm) high x 16”(405mm) wide fireplace opening with the chair brick removed. Thanks to its small proportions, it is equally suitable for houseboats, summerhouses and garden workshops. The Stockton 3 is also available in larger models beginning with the Stockton 5.
