Our Experience With The Stovax Riva2 40

The Stovax Riva2 40 is the inset stove we fit the most, and in reality we believe it’s the best inset stove available on the Irish market.

Why? It’s built incredibly well, and every part of it has been designed with the customer in mind. You only have to compare the Riva’s rope seals to another brand’s equivalent to see it’s on another level.

Maintenance is where it shows. The baffles are a two-second job to remove. Open the door to forty-five degrees and it simply lifts off for cleaning or eventual repair years down the line — no bolts to get wrung or seized. The handle lifts away too, so you can keep the sleek look, or keep the handle cool for the next time it’s needed.

Having fitted hundreds of these, the air control is above anything else we’ve seen in an inset stove, and the heat is genuinely impressive in a very short space of time.

Spare parts stay easily available for years and years after purchase — another thing that sets it apart from most inset stoves sold in Ireland. That matters more with an inset than a freestanding stove, because you don’t want to be opening a wall back up over a part nobody stocks.

The Ecodesign Stovax Riva2 40 wood burning and multi-fuel fire is designed specifically to fit into a standard 22” high x 16” wide British and Irish fireplace opening with the chairbrick removed. This allows you to install the fire into an existing opening with less building work, and in some cases even without removing a hearth and mantel already in place.

With a high-quality steel exterior, cast iron grate and log guard, and ergonomic handle design, the Riva2 inset fire range offers both designer flair and high efficiency heat in four different sizes, to suit a range of installations. For a truly mesmerising centrepiece, all Riva2 fires can be selected with one of two decorative frames; the minimalist Profil XS or the slightly wider Profil frame. Both frames are available in either three-sided or four-sided versions, allowing you to hearth mount your Riva2, or elevate the fire’s position for a modern ‘hole-in-the-wall’ look.

Included with this Stovax Cassette fire for your convenience are fire-resistant gloves, rope seal glue and a form for extended warranty.
