Our Experience With the Gazco Reflex 75T Multi-Sided

The multi-sided 75T takes everything that makes the Reflex the most realistic gas fire on the market and opens it up on more than one face. The same hand-painted logs with individual burners hidden underneath, the same flame that envelops the logs rather than passing through them — but now visible from two or three directions at once.

This is the version people choose when the fire is the centrepiece rather than something set into a wall.

Two-sided or three-sided?

The two-sided works beautifully on a corner, or where a fire needs to be seen from two rooms that meet — a sitting room and a hall, or a kitchen and a dining area.

The three-sided suits a peninsula wall or an island feature in an open-plan space, where the fire is visible from almost anywhere in the room.

Both use the same fire and the same display. It comes down to your layout, and we’ll happily talk it through before you decide.

The glass

Schott Robax, the same near-invisible heat-resistant glass across the whole Reflex range. We’ve had people in the showroom reach in to pick up a log without realising there was glass there at all. With two or three panes of it, the effect is stronger again — from most angles you genuinely aren’t aware of anything between you and the fire.

Installation — plan this early

A multi-sided fire is a more involved installation than a standard inset, and it wants planning at the design stage rather than retrofitting.

You have to build the fire into a structure that supports it and finishes properly on every visible face, which means designing the chimney breast or feature wall around the fire rather than the other way round.

Flue routing needs thought too, since there’s no chimney breast behind it to hide a liner in the usual way. It’s considerably harder if the wall is already up.
